A Path From Home to School

Balloon Tracking

On Thursday, May 3, 2007, Stepping Stones Academy set free 30 helium filled balloons with notes attached. The notes were written to request tracking if found, along with notes from the students.

Pictures below are from the launching and we will be updating the responses from those found.

We were thrilled to receive the first response to a balloon found in Anacoco, LA….. 206 miles form school.

Below is a copy of the email we received.

Not really sure of the specific date, maybe July 16th at Lions Camp in Anacoco, LA. It is a camp for crippled children. At the time we were in our first diabetic session. I found the note and thought it was the coolest thing ever. I was like,"Wow. What if I meet my husband through this note?"

So yeah, your project was/is super cool.

We were just as excited to receive our second response to a balloon found in Waterproof, LA….. 337 miles form school.

Below is a copy of the email we received.

Hi there,

I found one of your balloons you set free on May 3, 2007  in a little small town in Louisiana called Waterproof. I found it about two months ago. just never had a chance to respond to it. Hope this e-mail find you and your students in the best of health.
